I was born in Richmond, Virginia and spent my early years in New York City. My family moved to Fort Lauderdale after my 8th grade year. We lived next door to a friendly Realtor who sold us the beach house where I live today. After graduating from Pine Crest, I was accepted into the University of Miami but I moved to Cambridge, Mass. where I studied journalism at Harvard. I decided on a career in real estate and immediately fell in love with the business.
I worked in a small office. My broker, Art Breslin, had bushy white eyebrows and was very Irish. He taught me early on that the most important thing to remember is that you want to walk down any street holding your head high, having past and present customers greet you with a smile. He said, "Never think about the commission- only think about the results for the buyer or seller." He was so right.
