How sad that we live in a beautiful country filled with hate, discrimination, and fear.
I do not blame the politicians as much as I blame the parents. My parents were loving, generous, and very strict. They taught me that the best virtues were honesty, kindness, and tolerance. If I veered off course, I was punished (Not by spanking, but by strong words of disapproval). Today's parents are quick to criticize teachers, politicians, and others for their children's behavior. They spend too much time climbing the social ladder or making money and far too little time correcting their kids-- When they are crying out for engagement! This must change!
I am a mother, grandmother, and recently a great-grandmother. Luckily, I am not concerned because their parents and grandparents spend a lot of time teaching them values. After all, the children are our future.
Christians, Muslims, Jews, and all other religious groups should be able to practice their religious beliefs freely and without concerns of harassment. This is the foundation of this great country.
I personally feel that anyone who is illegally crossing our borders with nefarious intentions to harm any man, woman, or child should be deported. In other words, anyone who commits a crime. However, I also feel that there should be an easier path to citizenship for those who came here to escape persecution and hatred in other countries-- Especially those peaceful souls who want to learn our language, follow our laws, and contribute to the well-being of the United States.
Freedom of speech is essential in a free society, but that does not mean burning buildings, robbing stores, and damaging property. It does not mean hurling rocks, etc. at law enforcement, men and women (They have their own families to raise and protect). That only creates more hatred.
God is looking over our shoulders, and He wants to see change. That change starts with all of us.
God bless you for reading this, and God bless our future generations.
